Live with Steve Schmidt on media independence & why I'm watching the FAA story

A recording from Tara Palmeri and Steve Schmidt's live video

Thank you

, , , , , and everyone else who tuned into one of my first live videos with !

Steve asked me what storyline I’m interested in, and I told him I’m keeping an eye on cuts to the Federal Aviation Administration. Air Traffic Controllers are understaffed (less than 10 percent of terminal towers meet the FAA and controllers’ union standards) and yet Elon Musk still wants to slash the agency that regulates the sky and keeps us safe. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy confronted Elon Musk about it last week in a private meeting, according to the New York Times, accusing him of attempting to fire ATCs amid multiple plane crashes. Duffy also complained about the state of the equipment for tracking for planes. Scary!

What stories do you care about?

I’ll send you my latest video podcast tomorrow afternoon on a topic that sounds like an episode of Veep, but is actually keeping the Democrats up at night.

That’s all for now.

Sleep well and see you tomorrow.
