James is always entertaining when he spins his yarns. Funny, unfiltered, and quaint, kind of like the old guy on the Cracker Barrel brand. Sure, he's seen a ton of bs, and can smell it a mile away. But its unfortunate the Dems of his era can't bring themselves to open the tent door wider and bring in progressive Gen Zers or even a Millenial or two. Look, I'm an old white boomer, but even I can see that 20somethings tend have progressive values. Ironically James can get on board that its about a struggle of class and money, but not the progressive values that resist them.

Hard to sort through all the stuff carville says. Lots of hot air. His power/money angle is worth pursuing.

To be really honest - he gets on my last damn nerve. He helped Clinton win in 1992 and he’s been dining out on that ever since.

NY Times had discussion among Frank Bruni, Kristen Soltis Anderson and Nate Silver and they did not think winning the shutdown matters .

Silver: A plurality of voters blame President Trump and Republicans rather than Democrats. But the Democratic edge on this question seems to be narrowing.

Anderson: The freshest polling I’ve seen, from Reuters/Ipsos, shows 63 percent holding Trump responsible “at least a fair amount,” 67 percent saying the same for Republicans and 63 percent for Democrats.

One of the best things that could happen to the Democrats is AOC running against Schmer. The man is way past his Sell By date. I don't know who replaces him as Minority Leader, but that is a problem for another day.

DNC is the equivalent of the left shoe to the RNC, where C stands for capital. They are still onboard with those who they represent, the capitalists. It’s too little, too late. The so called left is way to the right and getting outflanked by some oportunistic and room reading republicans. I am tired of democratic strategists: they have gotten us here and it is my conviction that it is by design. So old guy be chipper or not, I have lost respect for these tacticians who lined their pockets.

I mean, Democrats right now seem kind of contradictory. They admit that the age of elected officials is a real problem. After all, haven’t four over 70 died since January? Yet you have Chuck Schumer backing a 78-year-old woman in Maine over the Oystermans, even though he himself knows he could lose his Senate primary in 2028, whether it is to AOC or Pat Ryan. And people are mad about primaries happening now, even though everyone was upset that a 2024 primary did not happen. Polling shows that yes, people have soured on Trump, but they still do not trust Democrats on crime, immigration, or the economy.

The Biden-Trump debate wasn’t Joe Biden not answering questions. It was an audience who couldn’t listen to anything longer than a 1-minute message. Add to that, a charismatic showman who doesn’t have a thought in his head, and a pile of disenfranchised male youths, and you get Biden=Bad. Orange Man-FUN

Thank you James. Yes yes yes the far left better be at the voting booth this time or we might as well all leave the party to them and become independents. I’m so tired of the far left and the far right. They’ve both hijacked the parties. And I don’t care who disagrees. It’s a fact!
