What I very much appreciated about Stuart, as I do across the board, is his ability to say what most intelligent and secure men and women have no trouble saying: "I DON"T KNOW. In this case, Stuart said: "I don't really know enough about Maine politics to make a comment about who might be the best person to replace Platner."
I have heard you, Tara, say, from time to time, what appears to terrify the incompetent/ insecure: "I don't know--but I'll find out."
I taught high school English and history for many decades and thought that was one of the best things to model for students. Modeling that intelligent, secure people have no problem admitting not only what they didn't know, but what they were wrong about.
Accordingly, I admit there was much about Platner that I didn't know, that I now do, AND that I was wrong about him. You were right about Platner, and I remember having listened to you, wondering why I didn't see it as unequivably myself, at the time.
I believe in your past two videos you have made very clear that all the work you've been doing for decades now with Epstein survivors gave you the clarity about Platner, that took more specific news reporting for me to arrive at.

Your entire Political Climate is corrupt especially the one that has the power now ‼️ Platner is clean right from the start He admitted and showed his past !! Whereas the Republicans stood by a Liar 🤥 misusing his Presidential privilege for Himself and making deals where the Profits wind up in his pocket but the GOP and their Leadership aren’t like Mr Platner laying his background for everyone to read 💙💙💙
The Democratic Party has a tremendous problem with male voters. The persecution and exile of Graham Platner for a event that happened within an established relationship, an event that is common within established relationships– I fear will doom the Democrats reputation with young men.
I had such high hopes. But no-they had to find a guy that had/has a lot of issues, that we (as Democrats, Independents and people with common decency) cannot overlook or sweep under the rug. One part of me hates to see him go, but the larger part of me is glad he's leaving the race. Hopefully, someone out there can compete and beat Ms. Collins. FWIW, my opinions are my own.
With regards to your headline, I don’t think the problem is that we are rewarding men like Graham Platner, but rather we give men the benefit of the doubt where as, with women, if Amy Klobuchar throws a binder in disgust or AOC takes a dress as a gift without thinking, we look to hang Scarlet Letters on them. (Frankly, given all of the inappropriate grifters in the Trump and GOP orbit, the miscalculation of AOC accepting a gift to the Met Gala and her persecution strikes me as the height of pettiness now.)
For months, Platner was a grenade waiting to explode. He was protected and coddled as many troubled men are. And of course he's the victim! Let's hold men to the same demanding standards applied to women.
Thanks Tara & Stuart: Great pod cast. I would feel a bit of empathy for Mr. Platner if he would just admit his past deeds and made attempts to deal with his issues. We can't complain about an alleged rapist pedophile president and run someone with similar issues. Platner must bow out and quit blaming others. No one instructed him to get a tattoo No one instructed him to abuse the fair sex. I happen to believe the women. Platner reminds me of someone with anger issues. Get a democrat into the fray and push those Platner ideas. His ideas are good but his character has defeate him.
The Clinton’s make Platner look like a paragon of virtue. They are still running for office & winning more often than not. They are definitely profiting handsomely. Don’t be surprised if he does a comeback kid routine. Of course the Clintons are the deep state’s golden boy & girl. I don’t know if he has deep state connections if he did he probably wouldn’t be in trouble to begin with.
