Whack-a-Mole in the West Wing: Trump Eyes Firing Bondi and Gabbard

BREAKING: Trump informed AG Pam Bondi she’s out and allies warn it’s part of a broader pattern, with DNI Tulsi Gabbard now potentially in the crosshairs.

Welcome back to The Red Letter.

After Attorney General Pam Bondi’s ouster, questions are mounting about whether Trump is systematically sidelining some of the most loyal women in his orbit. Sources say he’s already seen how quickly he can reshuffle power from replacing Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to sidelining Elise Stefanik’s nomination for U.N. ambassador.

Now, with reports he’s considering firing Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard after she contradicted him in testimony—saying Iran is still roughly a decade away from an intercontinental nuclear weapon—the question is whether this is more than routine personnel churn, and whether women in his orbit are uniquely vulnerable.

After all, the women who remain appear increasingly constrained: Education Secretary Linda McMahon is tasked with dismantling her own department, while Kari Lake, now at the U.S. Agency for Global Media, was given a similar mandate.

Plus: new reporting on how Epstein survivors were left behind after Bondi canceled meetings and failed to follow through leaving victims feeling abandoned by the very system meant to protect them.

“The Dow wishes her well,” survivor Marijke Chartouni quipped to me about Bondi’s departure after she refused to acknowledge the victims behind her during her disastrous hearing.
