Watch now | Reporter Abi Baker attended UFC Freedom 250. What she found was part fight night, part corporate activation and a revealing glimpse into how politics, entertainment and commerce blur together.
Abi is such a trooper. First reporting on the aftermath of the WHCD and this UFC 250 spectacle, what an amazing account of what turned out for most Americans as an ugly night in general--unless you are a fan of the UFC.
Respect for historical places in our USA, is disappearing fast. Treading on places that used to deserve respect, (W.H. area, this time). (U-N-I-T-E-D States of America for a just a certain group of folks)?
Abi great job.!!!! You were wonderful. Remember. This was a MAGA infomercial. Paramount plus the Ellisons UFC a maga company Trump has stock in UFC. Your walking us through was so insightful.
I watched the video recording and wrote reply late, at end of the day. Hope it made sense. But, yes, I feel reporting on the ground is excellent for big events to get a feel for the scene and people present. Keep up the great work, Abi and Tara! I'm always keeping up with The Red Letter!
Great reporting by you and Abi. I can't stand MMA so I feel bad Abi had to go to the event. I loved her description of the of the site and the feel of the event though. Thank you again.
I appreciate this reporting. This little f**ker saying “One of the coolest things you can experience as an American is watching two dudes beat the hell out of each other on the White House lawn. There’s nothing more American than that.” As an American and spouse of a combat veteran, it is offensive and makes me sick to my stomach. This little s**t has no idea what it is to be an American. Disgraceful. Sorry for my language but we lost a lot of friends in wars.
What Mark Shapiro called an "strategic investment" did get some people to subscribe to Paramount+. However, what caught my attention the most was none other than Joe Rogan touting that the ratings were going to be like Super Bowl numbers.
"It felt like Coachella crashed into a crypto conference and landed on the White House lawn."
Definitely the quote of the year.
If I might add, this so-called "spectacle" can be summarized in one word--disgusting. This is sacred ground. After reading this fine article, it felt like watching a horror movie, but the happiest moment for me was when everyone was pretending to be a meteorologist on social media monitoring the storms that arrived just in time so that the first of the seven fights was delayed by one hour. The irony was that lightning was spotted six miles from the White House.
No, it was basically like attending a state fair. Saturday had those flying motocyclists like you see in a movie. Not exactly patriotism in the truest form.
I always learn something from watching THE RED LETTER.
thanks Mark!!
A+ endorsement
God Bless you both!
Still shocked it happened, thank you for the first-hand account!
Abi on the frontlines!

Exactly!
Haha lol she took one for all of us.

Amazing reporting by Abi. Having Abi reporting on scene is brilliant and making The Red Letter even better. Great move, Tara.

it's really great to hear it right?
Absolutely is. I (and my veteran spouse) struggle with how to reach this mindset. They just have no concept of sacrifice.
I agree 💯 percent
“Patriotism”???
I will tell you what patriotism is. When my father had to sneak behind the front lines in Korea to find the positions of the enemy.
I think the reporter was misusing the phrase. As many young people do. Us older people distinguish true patriotism from faux patriotism.
What a condescending remark

Well, he was off by several hundred million:

His sons are trading on insider information. And it doesn’t matter how loud DJT repeats his denial.
Wait, didn’t Kid Rock tell us Bud Light makes you trans? 🤡
I'm holding out for the greased pig catching contest.
I'm holding out for the next chapter in our ultimate horror movie, and sadly we're all in it.
Where was even a hint of patriotism in this debacle? Seriously, where? All greed and mindless spectacle. Smh

This very Analysis of the whole situation!!!
