The Vanity Fair link (fixed)
Here's my new Vanity Fair piece on the hottest church in Washington — a dive bar, not a cathedral
Hi everyone,
Quick note: the Vanity Fair link in this morning’s e-mail was a preview link to my latest piece and didn’t work properly. That’s on me.
Here’s the correct link to the piece:
👉 The Hottest Spot for Sunday Church Is a MAGA Dive Bar in Washington DC
And just to be clear: the Substack post isn’t a recap. It’s the personal side of reporting this — what it stirred up for me around faith, family, and power — which didn’t fit in the magazine.
Thanks for reading, and for sticking with me.
All the best,
Tara

Good article and an obvious "technique" for recruiting young Republicans that will no doubt seek places in our government....couched in "they're only here for the spiritually". Something the Dems have yet to figure out.
I am pastor who planted a church and needed to meet in a non-traditional space. Ours was a Chuck-E-Cheese type of facility. Believe it or not it isn't unusual for a church to meet in a bar. They aren't being used on Sunday mornings and so they can be ideal depending on the layout. I wouldn't have known this had any connection to MAGA if you hadn't phrased it that way, other than white Christians lean more Republican in general. Their missions and ministries have nothing to do with politics. It's just a church that meets in a bar and there are hundreds of those.
