Thank you Abi and Tara. I think this gentleman does make some valid points and I appreciate hearing from someone outside my news orbit. I agree that the current Democrats are serving the White House to the far right in 2028 if the DNC and old guard Democratic leadership do not course correct.

I think the DNC is the GOP dressed in blue, 2 sides of the same coin. They listen and tend to the big money donors and have lost the thread of what the basic person needs: health care, housing, education and a decent job basic income.

Mayor Mamdani’s campaign focused on economic issues and left no one behind. The DNC might want to study that approach instead of doubling down on its own failures.

Two sides of the same coin is correct

I agree that young men are the important swing voter.

I don’t think that this person understands what appeals to them.

1) Economic opportunity - it’s basically gone since 2005 replaced by plutocracy and inheritocracy

2) Cultural comfort - let them be who they are without judgement. There is a disconnect between what is expected of them by potential partners - i.e. financial stability, social confidence - and what feelings are unacceptable to say out loud - insecurity, rejection and ethnicity related beliefs

TPUSA addressed the second one but not the first.

Bernie Sanders and Zoran Mamdami half addressed the - affordability but not opportunity

Whoever does this right and ignores disapproving finger waggers and brainwashed name callers will get their vote and win elections

that's so true. young men are the swing voiters

It’s true Trump is “honest,” and yes he lies, but I totally get it. I can tell what he means. It’s a weird situation, whereas with Democrats they can’t even admit a woman or a gay guy can’t win in 2028. Or when Kamala said if she picked Pete she would have lost the election before a vote even happened, and everyone was like yes this is true, but Rachel Maddow got mad. Or they understand they don’t know how to reach men but think hiring that 300 pound fat girl (this is a real thing) is who men want to hear from. It’s absolutely hilarious from the top down because in 28 when they aren’t running on not Trump it’s going to show all the flaws again. Democrats the worst annoying self righteous people work for them at every level because men actually want to make money and don’t care about making the world a better place

I am so lucky to know lots of guys who do care about making the world a better place, and the world is a better place for having them in it. Not all have gone over to worshipping Mammon. And the Pope just gave me hope there are ethical people who can make a difference. Yeah, the power of filthy lucre is real and we are all in bondage to the Task Master or we are on a one way street. I'm very sad that the psychic tropes of sheeps in wolves clothing or sharks in a small tank are so confining for some American men. Contending with hatred and fear in all its forms is a spiritual battle not for the pussies that so many have become. Cowards acting out for Big Daddy like they are all so masculine, kicking Mean Mommy (in the form of the any uppity female and the planet) to the curb, or letting their freak flag fly from the persistent nihilism and cynical attitude towards nature and brotherly/sisterly love-- cowering with their extensions of AK17s thinking of "Others" with fear and blinding themselves to the spirit of life itself. Men should start to care about feeling and expressing their emotions instead of killing others for having feelings they can't control. Though, I have to admit, not spilling the beans all the time is more productive and makes you more money:). Can humans win for not losing. All this is impermanent. One of the best things in life is that this too shall pass.

Is the Right Wing really winning and/or building a culture, though?

Yes, I'm aware Candace, Tucker, Joe, et al have big Podcast following in the millions. But how many of these clicking are the same million or so listening to each other, or hate follows, or bots?

When even kids online are calling out the Theo Vons, et al of the world and forcing them to recant or shift against MAGA, I think the idea of the Right winning the culture war is overstated.

Besides, most of these conservative influencers are astroturf operations anyway, well funded by billionaires and foreign agents. Turning Point, with Vance in attendance, couldn't even half fill an arena last week. And no one thinks Charlie Kirk is "cool," dead or alive.

EDIT: Another thing that this article seems to ignore (aside from a sentence about the corporate-backed nature of said astroturf conservative influencer operations) is the thermostatic nature of politics and culture. Not too long ago, Ralph Nader, cultural and political progressivism, etc were cool, especially in light of the disastrous Dubya era. But then, Obama got into office, the left won most of the cultural battles, and then it was the Right that became “edgy” and “countercultural.” In time, this will happen again in reverse.

“The right is looking for converts. The left is looking for traitors.” This comment says it all right here. I departed the right even before Trump entered the political fray, but the left’s scolding and shaming will never appeal to me. And I don’t see them changing it anytime soon - it’s in their DNA.

And they haven't exactly fixed it yet..

It's about time someone recognizes that the flight to the far left is hurting the Democratic party. It is becoming the party of antisemitism, pro-tax Democratic Socialists, boys in girls sports, invasive surgery on minors, unvetted immigrants, etc. They've lost all but the far left vote.

That damn wedge is old as the hills. Twice as dusty. Hard to tell a society so full of ego that they've been dooped. Why are some independent of this? Others blinded by traditions. Life has always been an unknown road. But this one is steep and treacherous.

That damn wedge!⚖️🫡
