Great newsletter. Looks like we may have gotten it wrong? Perhaps, Epstein got his sweetheart deal because of the CIA; they decided to leverage his access (and extortion schemes) to powerful businessmen and politicians across the globe; and the CIA was gathering very useful information as part of the deal and relationship! Just saying!

Honestly, I am starting to believe that at least several western and eastern intelligence agencies were monitoring Epstein and leveraging the information to use it as blackmail and extortion!

This is too big, scans too many continents and involves too many powerful people for any of this to be coincidence; especially given how hard this administration is trying to make sure the truth never sees the light of day!…:)

Tara, keep on going!! You got this!!

This whole thing goes so deep, I don’t think anyone realizes just how deep it really does go. If people did, it might just blow their minds, and what’s worse, it could still be going on without anyone realizing it

Yep, when you hear "move along, there is nothing to see here", you know there is.

Great reporting and great insight into this well connected "operator". The reason I subscribe is because the new information you generate......just not regurgitating "news" others have mined. BRAVO

Great great brilliant piece Tara. What I will say is this. He got in a lot of rooms and he got around a lot of people. It clearly shows that.

My gut says this story will still be talked about decades from now. It's that disturbing and much more than meets the eye.

"I’ve long believed based on my reporting that Epstein operated as what some in the intelligence community might call a 'hyper-fixer' — a person whose currency wasn’t just money or blackmail, but access.

"Presidents. Royalty. Tech moguls. Scientists. Financiers. Foreign dignitaries. He moved between worlds with ease. That kind of access has value because it can glean highly sensitive information and open doors."

I am so impressed with all your digging and figuring out how all of this went down, Tara! Someday maybe America will figure out that women were made to dig in and run this country better than old while men!

Great reporting.

One thing I think gets missed in these conversations is the question of how protection actually works in practice. If someone is generating value for powerful agencies, the system doesn’t need a conspiracy to protect them. It just needs everyone at each decision point to independently conclude that disrupting the arrangement isn’t worth the cost.

The Palm Beach plea deal doesn’t require a phone call from Langley. It just requires a prosecutor who understands, even subconsciously, that certain doors shouldn’t be opened.

Protection doesn’t flow through directives…it flows through ambient awareness of consequences. That’s what makes these cases so hard to crack open.

Excellent work, Ms. Palmeri. This time period 1999-2011 notably encompasses the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and maybe most importantly the event that precipitated both, 9/11. Who can say just how much value Epstein may have had during this tumultuous period given his connections and skill set (and resultantly how much goodwill he may have felt he’d banked upon his first arrest).

But, disgusting as usual. We ponds gotta keep the players playing while we happily live and divide in our blindness.

Other then that, its a beauty of a day! ⚖️

Thank you for all you are doing to support the survivors and their quest for justice.

Have you had any conversations with Ms Maurene Comey? Her father?

Without doubt, they know both Epstein's and Trump's interactions with Putin.

As I mentioned to the Former FBI Director in a Substack message sent to him, yesterday:

"Was wondering, (Former FBI Director) James Comey, why you did not systematically dismantle the Putin-Epstein-Thiel-Trump Axis during 2013-2017 tenure as FBI Director, instead of fretting about Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails.

Our American Democracy and global stability would likely be a bit less ready to collapse had you done so.

BTW, I greatly appreciate the efforts of your daughter to hold Epstein to account, before the law, for his vast criminality - including destabilizing our National Security."
