Welcome back to The Red Letter. I’m dropping in from my holiday in Sicily, where I’m still calling my sources because I can’t ignore this Jeffrey Epstein cover-up memo from the Department of Justice. None of it adds up. You can listen to more of my reporting and analysis of the case on The Tara Palmeri Show at Apple Podcasts and Spotify. I will continue to update with videos and podcasts throughout the week. President Trump called it “old news” on Monday, but I don’t see it that way, and neither do the victims.

Pam Bondi has about as much credibility on the Epstein case as a reply on a Reddit thread. That might sound outrageous, considering she’s the top law enforcement official in the federal government. But the truth is, she’s out of her depth—and trying to cover it up.

Bondi clearly hasn’t done the homework on one of the most politically radioactive cases in recent history, thanks in part to Trump. And now she’s hoping a slapdash, CYA memo will make it all go away.

“She’s been scrambling ever since binder-gate,” a senior law enforcement source told me, referring to when Bondi handed right-wing influencers a stack of publicly available documents stamped Classified—as if that made them so.

“She buys herself two weeks—every week,” the source added.

Her chaotic handling of the case has only deepened the rift between her office and the FBI’s top brass—namely, Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino.

“She has to answer for all of her FOX News hits, and that’s what this is,” the source said. Back in February, Bondi went on FOX and claimed she had Epstein’s “client list” sitting on her desk. But in a memo dropped over Fourth of July weekend, she quietly walked that back, admitting there is no such list.
