Good way of putting it, 4chan user put into life

I am usually lost for words when confronted by such individuals, so good on you for being able to slog through that conversation. Calling him a provocateur does not feel quite accurate because the performative nature of it is so over the top. It comes across as a way for him to politically grift off his own insecurities. Him repeatedly claiming "that he takes responsibility for his actions" and "he refuses to play the victim" shows that he is quite aware that all of his points come across whining and unoriginal grievance politics. He only talks in platitudes and offers little in terms of policy other than what will generate headlines. Florida deserves better.

Thank you for posting this. I live in Florida and didn’t know about this disgusting man.

Nice work on this interview, Tara. You maintained your composure and asked the hard questions. I also like how you repeatedly reminded him that you are just a reporter.

This wasn’t a debate of ideas. You brought up some of the known facts about this candidate and asked him to confirm/deny, or to explain them more thoroughly. He obviously danced his way around the tougher questions to avoid giving you a direct answer.

Man, the people of FL are in trouble if they elect this clown to the highest office in the state. But then again, as Donald Trump reminds us daily, you get what you deserve. If they elect him, then they deserve the consequences of his leadership.

I wonder what his mom thinks of his disgusting and distorted view of others. It’s this type of self-hate that emboldens white racists in this country. Tara is a better person than me for trying to press this scum and his views. Hoping his 15 mins of fame end soon 🙏

Isn’t it something that the trash that live among us feel free to exhibit their true colors. At least we know what a piece of trash this fishback is, it smells from here.

Why isn't Casey Desantis running, pretty sure she would beat 4chan user come to life and Donalds. Seems pretty clear Florida wants a 3rd choice.

That’s what I love about you. You go there. Great piece. Allow him to expose himself. I’m a Democrat. What he’s doing to Donaldson is The good ol well he’s black how did he get here? Something had to be given to him. Somethings not right. Oh he got that because he’s black. As much as Byron and I disagree on politics. He worked for everything that he got. Thank you for what you do. And thank you for pointing this out. As for Trump with the racist posts about the Obamas. So racist so vile so disgusting. But coming from Trump not surprising.

Tara - amazing work, as always. You have the patience of a saint. Given that this guy has $19,000 in the bank and 22% support - he's dangerous. What's up with the right and pedophilia, cheating, and lying? Seriously. And his tone - his existence - is condescending. This combination of white supremacy and patriarchy is toxic. And to add...this type of MAGA also see all this as a joke. I hope voters wake up before someone like him torches Florida in the same way Trump is torching the US.

And to add, if he attracts Nick Fuentes followers.....he's a white supremacist no matter what anyone claims.

He's a fraud. Only running for governor because he needs a job and he thinks copying the trump playbook will help him.

Who knew it was so hard to be a white guy?🤷‍♀️

Tara, you have remarkable patience. Fishback is disgusting and he doesn't even have the wherewithal to try to defend his noxious positions. I'm sure he isn't embarrassed by his performance, but he certainly should be.

He has an eminently punchable face.

James Fishback, whether performative or sincere, poses a danger to the best interests of society. His outrageousness of communication creates risks for the people he denegrates.

Yet, he simultaneously invites risk towards himself too. He becomes vulnerable as well and since he's not a dictator or a rising one, he lacks power to get to the summit.

Fishback is now a target for harm, reputation and physical safety-wise, from the most radical of dissenters. That's recklessness today.

While we can't ever say "never" with him becoming bigger, because he definitely aligns with a segment of corrupted mind virus-infected people, online and not, he is very likely to get blown out in the political race.

He is one-note reliant and that means he is easier to "defend" and won't have staying power.

Mr. Fishbach should educate himself: across the Western world, the law grants citizenship to children born in a country, regardless of their parents’ status. My own country does too.

His xenophobic rhetoric is horrifying Listening to him brings Stephen Miller to mind—with makeup. From the power of the state, this kind of rhetoric defines a policy of ethnic cleansing (“not dark enough,” “doesn’t speak English well,” etc.). The parallels with Nazism are chilling.
