Can Democrats rise from the ashes in time for 2028?
Tara Palmeri and Andrew Yang mull over the current pool of Presidential wannabes
Welcome back to The Red Letter.
What a week already. The world holds its breath while President Trump’s trade war carries on. Sure, the markets rallied this morning amid hopes that he might strike some deals. But who knows what tomorrow will bring if he goes through with the “reciprocal” tariff showdown with China at midnight.
My best advice, don’t look at your financial apps.
Last week, I spoke to Andrew Yang in a wide-ranging interview about the dire state of the Democratic party. We made predictions for the 2026 midterms and then ranked and analyzed the growing number of Democratic candidates for 2028.
We both agree that there will be multiple debate stages. I predict as many as three.
Yang thinks Democratic hopefuls should declare now, not wait until after the midterms like they usually do. I think it’s too much time to let them rip each other apart…
We hit on everyone from Gavin Newsom, AOC, Gretchen Whitmer, Wes Moore, Josh Shapiro, Kamala Harris, JB Pritzker, Cory Booker, Ro Khanna, Rahm Emanuel and more… No one is spared. Check it out to see if you made the list.
You can listen to the entire episode here or watch a clip of our interview in the video above.
Great discussion! I agree that the McConaughey catch-phrase would definitely play!
Any thoughts on Andy Beshear?
